Short version: your screenshots never leave your browser and there are no accounts. The one thing that is measured is the visit itself, with Google Analytics, which you can switch off at the bottom of this page. The data controller is To sider ApS, CVR 42753491, reachable at pa@tosider.dk.

What never leaves your device

The editor is a client-side application. Screenshots you upload, paste or drop, the projects you save, and the images and videos you export are held in your browser's own storage (IndexedDB and localStorage) and processed on your machine.

None of it is uploaded, and we have no way to see it. Clearing your browser storage deletes it permanently, including from us — because it was never with us.

Analytics, and how to switch it off

We use Google Analytics 4 to see how many people find the site and which pages they open. It loads when you arrive, on the content pages and in the editor alike. You can switch it off for this browser with the buttons at the bottom of this page: from then on no request is made to Google, no script is fetched and the cookies it set are deleted.

While it is on, Google Analytics records the page you are on, the page that referred you, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and general device information such as browser, operating system and screen size. It does not receive your screenshots, your projects or anything you export: those never leave your browser, on either setting.

  • Advertising features, remarketing and Google Signals are switched off in the property.
  • There is no tag manager, no advertising pixel, no session recording and no third-party tracker of any other kind.
  • Analytics data is kept for 14 months, after which Google deletes it.
  • The legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used. You can object at any time, and switching analytics off below is how — no explanation needed and nothing is asked in return.

Cookies

Only analytics sets cookies here, so switching it off leaves none at all.

  • _ga and _ga_<property> — set by Google Analytics to tell one visit from the next. They last up to two years, and we delete both the moment you switch analytics off.
  • sim.consent — not a cookie but a small entry in your browser's own local storage, recording your choice and when you made it. It never leaves your device, and it is the only thing stored if you switch analytics off.
  • The editor's other local storage — your projects, captures and settings — is strictly necessary to hold your own work, and needs no consent under the cookie rules.

Where analytics data goes

Google Analytics is provided by Google Ireland Limited, which processes the data on our behalf and may transfer it to Google LLC in the United States. Those transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and, where that does not apply, on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. Google's own privacy policy governs what it does as a processor for us.

Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses: your IP is used to derive an approximate location and is then discarded. We have not linked the property to any Google advertising product, so the data is not used to build an advertising profile of you.

Changing your mind

The buttons at the bottom of this page take effect immediately and either way: declining disables Google Analytics on the spot and deletes the cookies it set, and allowing turns it back on. Your choice is remembered on this device for twelve months, after which analytics runs again unless you decline again. Clearing your browser's storage for this site clears the choice with it.

When you buy Pro

Checkout is hosted by Stripe, which acts as the merchant of record. You give your email, payment details and billing country to Stripe, not to us; Stripe is the controller of that data and processes it under its own privacy policy.

We see the result: your email address and the identifier of the completed payment. These are put into the licence stored in your browser, so that you can restore your purchase on another device.

Server logs

Two requests reach our server, and only when you buy or restore: one to start checkout, one to issue a licence. Our host (Vercel) records ordinary request logs, including IP address and timestamp. The licence endpoint also keeps a short-lived count of recent attempts per IP address, in memory, to stop automated guessing of email addresses.

The legal basis is performing the contract with you, and our legitimate interest in preventing abuse. We do not use these logs for anything else.

Your rights

In summary, the legal bases are: our legitimate interest in measuring how the site is used, which you may object to at any time by switching analytics off, without affecting what was collected before; performance of the contract for a purchase; and our legitimate interest in keeping the licence endpoint from being abused.

You have the right to access, correct, export or erase personal data we hold, to object to processing, and to complain to Datatilsynet. In practice we hold very little: write to pa@tosider.dk and we will act on it. Payment data is held by Stripe, and analytics data by Google; requests about either are best directed to them or forwarded by us.

Your choice, on this browser

Analytics is running on this browser. You have not turned it off. Analytics does not run on this host, so this setting changes nothing here.
